Leaked SSA report reveals US gathered intelligence on DA, EFF, IFP

U.S SPYWARE ON SOUTH AFRICA Leaked SSA report reveals US gathered intelligence on DA, EFF, IFP

In a twist to the unfolding saga, a recently unearthed report from the State Security Agency (SSA) has shaken the political landscape of Johannesburg. This time, the report exposes a covert network established by a foreign power, China, within South Africa’s major political parties, including the African National Congress (ANC), Democratic Alliance (DA), Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), and the Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP).

Details of the report emerged following a landmark ruling by the Supreme Court of Appeal (SCA), which overturned a suppression order on the media. The State Department vehemently opposed the report’s publication, citing concerns over national security. However, the SCA disagreed, paving the way for its disclosure.

The 17-page dossier primarily focuses on China’s intelligence-gathering activities within the ANC. Shockingly, it also reveals China’s infiltration into opposition parties, with the Chinese consulate in Durban identified as a key hub for espionage on the IFP, EFF, and DA.

SCA Judge Taki Makgoka, in delivering the ruling, highlighted the report’s recommendation section, which suggests that the Chinese government aims to manipulate policy directions within South Africa by cultivating deep ties with the ruling party and potentially subverting the nation’s governance.

With the green light given by the SCA, the Independent Media Group now has the clearance to publish the report’s contents. Judge Makgoka emphasized that he found no compelling evidence to suggest that the report’s disclosure would endanger national security, signaling a new chapter in South Africa’s geopolitical landscape.
