Steve Bannon Released from Prison, Resumes Support for Trump

Steve Bannon, a longtime ally of Donald Trump, was released from federal prison early Tuesday and immediately reaffirmed his unwavering support for the former president. He urged Republicans to mobilize and vote against Democratic nominee Vice President Kamala Harris in the upcoming elections.

Bannon served a four-month sentence for defying a subpoena in the congressional investigation into the January 6, 2021, Capitol attack. Upon his release from the Federal Correctional Institution in Danbury, Connecticut, he traveled to Manhattan, where he resumed his “WarRoom” podcast and held a news conference later in the day.

“I’m finally out of being a political prisoner,” Bannon declared, suggesting that Democrats had aimed to break his spirit. “I think you can see today I’m far from broken. I’ve been empowered by my four months in Danbury federal prison.” He described his prison experience as enlightening, citing conversations with fellow inmates about their views on Harris and the Biden administration’s record on incarceration.

Bannon’s return to the political arena signals his continued influence as he rallies support for Trump and mobilizes voters ahead of the critical election.
