Vietnam’s Communist Party General Secretary, To Lam, held a phone conversation with Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel, during which both leaders underscored the historic ties between Hanoi and Havana, rooted in shared revolutionary struggles and decades of political solidarity.

President Díaz-Canel congratulated Vietnam on the successful convening of its 14th National Party Congress, commending the country’s achievements over 40 years of economic renewal and national development. He praised Vietnam’s reform experience as a valuable reference for Cuba as it advances its own economic restructuring efforts.

General Secretary To Lam reaffirmed Vietnam’s unwavering support for Cuba and emphasized Hanoi’s commitment to enhancing unity, political trust, and practical cooperation across key sectors. Both leaders welcomed progress in existing partnerships and the implementation of bilateral agreements.

The two sides agreed to instruct relevant ministries and agencies to intensify coordination, with the aim of promoting sustainable and results-oriented cooperation that further deepens Vietnam-Cuba relations amid evolving global economic challenges.
