Moscow, June 26, 2025 — In a pointed address delivered from Moscow on the sidelines of the ongoing NATO Summit, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov offered a scathing critique of Western policies, warning that future diplomatic ties with Russia hinge on a fundamental shift in the West’s approach to international relations.

Speaking at a press conference attended by senior Russian officials and select foreign media, Lavrov accused NATO and its allies of contributing to global instability through what he described as “double standards and unilateral policies.” The remarks come as NATO leaders meet to discuss alliance strategy, defense commitments, and tensions with both Russia and China.

“We will only consider any proposals to restore relations when the era of international egotism and condescending attitudes comes to an end,” Lavrov stated firmly, characterizing Western diplomacy as “arrogant” and “self-serving.”

“This so-called ‘rules-based international order’ is simply a mask for domination by a select few nations,” Lavrov said.

Russia, according to Lavrov, is seeking a multipolar world where no single bloc can dictate terms. He cited growing cooperation with countries in Asia, Africa, and Latin America as evidence of Russia’s pivot away from traditional Western partners.

“The world no longer revolves around Washington or Brussels,” Lavrov declared. “We will engage with those who respect us as equals, not those who lecture us.”
