Day 1 of the Global Prayer and Fasting with Pastor Chris Oyakhilome focused on understanding God’s will and the believer’s role in carrying out His purpose on the earth through prayer and the ministry of reconciliation.
Reading from The Holy Bible, Pastor Chris emphasized that God has entrusted believers with the work of reconciling the world unto Himself. He explained that Christians are called to manifest the will of the Father in the earth and function as carriers of His divine presence and purpose.
He further taught that when a person receives Christ, the Holy Spirit becomes one with their spirit, making them inseparable from God’s divine life. According to the teaching, believers are not “housing two spirits,” but are united with the Holy Spirit in fellowship and purpose.
Speaking on praying in tongues, Pastor Chris explained that when believers pray in the Spirit, the Holy Spirit gives the utterance, enabling them to pray according to God’s perfect will beyond human understanding.
Drawing from The Holy Bible, he described how believers are brought into “the heavenly play” functioning in partnership with God as He works in them both to will and to do of His good pleasure.
The prayer session also focused heavily on intercession for nations and leaders based on The Holy Bible, where Christians are instructed to pray for all men, kings and those in authority so that God’s will of salvation and peace may prevail in the nations.
Participants around the world joined in prayers for governments, national leaders, peace, righteousness and the spread of the Gospel across the earth.
