The White House Approves Advanced Missile Defense Design

Washington, D.C. — U.S. President Donald Trump has confirmed that a new missile defense system, named the “Golden Dome,” will be fully operational before the end of his current term. The announcement came alongside a formal unveiling of the final design, which Trump described as “a historic leap forward in America’s defense capabilities.”

The new system is designed to defend against modern aerial threats including hypersonic glide vehicles, cruise missiles, and intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs) threats that experts warn are increasingly outpacing current defense technologies. Development of the Golden Dome has been fast-tracked since Trump’s return to the White House in January.

“We’re making America safer than ever before,” Trump told reporters, adding that “the Golden Dome will be the most advanced missile shield on Earth.”

An initial $25 billion has been allocated in the House budget bill to fund early deployment and infrastructure, though officials suggest the total cost could climb significantly as the project scales. Construction and integration will involve multiple U.S. defense contractors, and the Pentagon is reportedly working to incorporate artificial intelligence and next-generation radar systems into the new platform.

Critics have raised concerns about the pace of development and long-term feasibility. Some analysts argue that while the threat from adversaries like China, Russia, and North Korea is real, building a fully effective missile shield remains technologically daunting.

Still, defense officials insist the Golden Dome is a crucial move in modernizing America’s deterrence strategy and keeping pace with rival powers.
