Netanyahu Denies Rift With U.S. After Trump Skips Israel on Gulf Tour

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday rejected growing speculation of a diplomatic rift with the United States after President Donald Trump completed a high-profile tour of Gulf states that notably excluded Israel.

Trump’s visits to Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates resulted in a string of major business agreements and strategic discussions, but the absence of Israel long considered Washington’s closest Middle East ally sparked widespread media scrutiny and regional speculation.

“There is no crisis with the United States,” Netanyahu said during a press conference in Jerusalem. “The relationship remains strong, and we continue to engage in ongoing strategic dialogue.”

While the U.S. administration has not formally addressed the decision to exclude Israel from the Gulf itinerary, analysts say the move could reflect a tactical shift aimed at bolstering relations with key Arab partners amid ongoing efforts to reshape regional alliances.

Israeli officials have downplayed the omission, emphasizing continued cooperation on defense and intelligence matters with Washington. However, local media have been abuzz with theories about shifting priorities in U.S. foreign policy under Trump’s leadership.

Trump has visited Israel on past diplomatic trips, and the two governments have maintained close contact throughout the ongoing regional tensions involving Iran, Gaza, and broader security concerns.
