Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman met with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi in Jeddah on Tuesday, marking the Iranian official’s first visit to the kingdom since the recent conflict between Iran and Israel.
During the meeting, both sides addressed bilateral relations and ongoing regional developments. Araqchi also held what were described as “productive” discussions with Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan Al-Saud and Defense Minister Khalid bin Salman, according to a statement from Iran’s Foreign Ministry.
The visit was part of Araqchi’s return journey from Brazil and focused on promoting peace and stability in the region. This marks a significant diplomatic step following the 12-day air conflict between Iran and Israel that took place in June.
