President Donald Trump said Tuesday that the U.S. would be engaging with China in what he described as a “very friendly fashion,” despite ongoing trade tensions.
Speaking at an energy summit held at Carnegie Mellon University, he praised a newly signed trade agreement with Indonesia and suggested that further deals, possibly including one with India, could be on the horizon.
Trump has taken a hard stance on international trade, implementing tariffs of at least 10% on a wide range of countries, with even higher duties applied in some cases.
