Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva stated on Tuesday that Justice Minister Ricardo Lewandowski had his U.S. visa revoked. Lula criticised the move, calling it an “irresponsible decision” and expressed his support for the minister.
“Such actions are unacceptable — not just toward Minister Lewandowski, but also toward Supreme Court justices or any Brazilian authority,” Lula said during a cabinet meeting, alluding to earlier reports of similar U.S. visa restrictions.
There was no immediate response from the U.S. State Department regarding the matter.
