European Nations, Ukraine Draft 12-Point Peace Proposal to End Russia War: Report

European countries are reportedly working with Ukraine on a 12-point peace proposal aimed at halting Russia’s war along current battle lines.

The draft proposal, which has not been made public, would effectively seek to freeze the conflict in its current state, potentially formalizing the frontlines as they stand now. The initiative comes as international fatigue over the prolonged war grows and calls for a diplomatic resolution intensify.

Citing sources familiar with the discussions, The plan envisions the formation of a peace oversight board chaired by U.S. President Donald Trump. The board would be responsible for supervising the implementation of the peace deal, should it gain traction.

While European nations and Ukraine are reportedly aligned on the need to explore negotiations, there has been no official comment from Moscow or Washington on the reported framework.

Analysts say the involvement of Trump currently marks a notable shift in U.S. diplomacy on the issue, as previous efforts under the Biden administration focused on military aid and sanctions rather than direct mediation.

The full contents of the 12-point plan remain unclear, and it is unknown whether the proposal will be formally presented at any upcoming diplomatic summits.

The war, which began with Russia’s full scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, has left tens of thousands dead and displaced millions, with no clear military victory in sight for either side.
