Bolivia’s former president Luis Arce, who left office last month, has been taken into custody, according to a former member of his administration.
In a video posted on X, Maria Nela Prada — who previously served as minister of the presidency during Arce’s government — said he may have been moved to a detention facility outside La Paz.
Local news outlets reported that Arce was detained in connection with an investigation into alleged embezzlement dating back to his time as economy minister under former president Evo Morales.
