A female teacher has died after a shooting at a school in southern Thailand’s Hat Yai district, authorities confirmed. The incident occurred at Patongprathankiriwat School in Songkhla Province, sending shockwaves through the local community.
According to the provincial administration, the victim has been identified as Sasiphat Sinsamosorn, a teacher at the school. Officials said the shooting took place on Wednesday when a 17 year old suspect allegedly opened fire on the school premises. The teacher succumbed to her injuries on Thursday.
Police reports indicate that the suspect used a firearm that had been stolen from a police officer. The teenager was detained shortly after the incident, and an investigation is now underway to determine the motive and circumstances surrounding the attack.
