Sweden, Nordic and Baltic Partners Mull Joint Acquisition of CV90 Combat Vehicles

Sweden is in talks with Norway, Lithuania, and Finland to jointly procure CV90 infantry fighting vehicles, Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson announced Tuesday. Speaking at a joint press conference with Lithuanian Prime Minister Gintautas Paluckas, Kristersson said the four countries are considering the purchase of several hundred vehicles as part of a coordinated defense effort. A formal statement of intent outlining the potential cooperation is currently being prepared. The CV90 is built by a Swedish-based arm of a leading European defense manufacturer.
