Wave of Resignations Hits Libyan Government Amid Unrest in Capital

Libya’s Economy and Trade Minister Mohamed al-Hawij, part of the internationally recognised government, announced his resignation on Friday, becoming the third minister to step down that day.

His departure follows those of Local Government Minister Badr al-Tumi and Housing Minister Abu Bakr al-Ghawi, amid ongoing protests in the capital triggered by recent violent clashes.
