A newly developed weight loss drug from China, ecnoglutide, helped participants lose up to 15% of their body weight over 48 weeks in a major clinical trial. This once-weekly injection demonstrated results comparable to, and in some cases exceeding, those seen with established western treatments. In addition to weight loss, patients experienced improvements in waist size, liver fat, and other key health indicators. The drug is currently under regulatory review in China and may soon offer a new option for the treatment of obesity worldwide.
