During the recent RHAPATHON program hosted by Chris Oyakhilome, Pastor Chris strongly rejected renewed virus fears, speaking about what he referred to as the “so-called Hanta virus” and declaring that believers should not be deceived by fear-driven narratives.
Pastor Chris, warned Christians must become spiritually alert and avoid being manipulated by systems that thrive on panic and confusion. He compared current discussions surrounding hantavirus to what many people experienced during the COVID-19 era, when fear and uncertainty spread rapidly across the globe.
The Different Meanings of “Hanta”
The word “Hanta” carries different meanings depending on the context in which it is used.
1. “Hanta” in Israeli Hebrew Slang
In modern Israeli Hebrew slang, “hanta” (חַנְטָה) is an informal expression used to describe:
- nonsense,
- deception,
- a scam,
- something fake,
- or a dishonest story.
It is similar to expressions such as:
- “That’s nonsense,”
- “That’s fake,”
- “That’s a trick,”
- or “That’s a load of rubbish.”
Many online users connected Pastor Chris’ remarks to this slang meaning because he repeatedly described the virus narrative as:
- “nonsense,”
- “hogwash,”
- “a trick,”
- and part of a deceptive agenda.
2. Hantavirus as a Medical Term
Separately, Hantavirus is also the name of a real group of viruses recognized by medical authorities. According to the some health organizations hantaviruses are primarily spread through contact with infected rodents and can, in rare cases, cause serious respiratory illnesses such as Hantavirus Pulmonary Syndrome (HPS).
During RHAPATHON, Pastor Chris referred to what he called “Hanta virus pulmonary infection” and argued that discussions surrounding it existed years earlier in documents connected to COVID-era planning. He claimed the public should not allow fear to be used as a tool of control again.
Comparing Current Fear Narratives to COVID-19
Pastor Chris warned that many people during COVID accepted restrictions, fear campaigns, and government policies without spiritual discernment.
He recalled how even some Christians and church leaders supported the shutting down of churches during the pandemic, believing they were helping society, while in his view they were unknowingly cooperating with fear based systems.
According to him, believers must now become more spiritually vigilant and avoid blindly accepting every global narrative presented to them.
“Watch and Pray”
One of the central themes of the message was Jesus’ instruction to “watch and pray.”
Pastor Chris taught that Christians should:
- pay attention to world events,
- pray for their nations,
- discern spiritual influences,
- and avoid reacting out of fear.
He emphasized that believers are not helpless observers but people who can influence their nations through prayer, faith, and the Word of God.
Faith Over Fear
Throughout the RHAPATHON sessions, Pastor Chris repeatedly encouraged Christians to stay full of the Holy Spirit and refuse fear driven thinking.
He declared that believers should not live under intimidation but in confidence, authority, and spiritual understanding through Christ.
For many viewers, the discussion about “Hanta” became part of a broader message about discernment, prayer, and resisting fear in uncertain times.
