Day 2 of the Global Prayer and Fasting With Pastor Chris Focuses on Worship, Prayer for Nations and Prophetic Insights

Day 2 of the ongoing Global Prayer and Fasting program with Pastor Chris Oyakhilome centered on fervent intercession for nations, the restoration of true worship in the Church and prophetic teachings connected to global affairs and biblical prophecy.

Addressing millions of participants joining the fasting program around the world, Pastor Chris emphasized the importance of maintaining consistent prayer throughout the day during periods of fasting.

“It is important to take time out during the course of the day when we fast, to pray before we conclude the sessions together,” he said, encouraging believers to actively influence world events through prayer.

Pastor Chris Speaks on True Worship in the Church

One of the major themes of the session focused on worship and what Pastor Chris described as the need for a return to genuine praise centered on God’s truth.

Reflecting on teachings he previously shared in 2020, he said the Church had allowed personal gain, entertainment culture and positions of prominence to overshadow sincere worship.

According to him, many worship practices gradually shifted toward performance rather than spiritual ministry.

“I told you in 2020 that the church allowed personal gain to come into the church, through concerts and positions of prominence,” he said.

Pastor Chris criticized what he described as celebrity-style worship culture, saying some individuals who identify as worship leaders move from church to church primarily for personal benefit rather than spiritual service.

He further argued that some popular worship songs lacked biblical accuracy and did not reflect true praise of God.

Referencing John 12:34, he questioned lyrics such as “Lift Jesus Higher,” explaining that Jesus Christ is already exalted and seated on the throne of authority.

“How do you lift up a man who is seated on the throne of all authority already?” he asked during the teaching.

Prayer for Nations and Global Affairs

The prayer session also focused heavily on nations and global developments.

Pastor Chris reminded participants that Christians are carriers of divine blessings and peace wherever they go, citing Genesis 26:2-4, where God appeared to Isaac during a time of famine in Gerar.

He explained that even during difficult economic or social conditions, God’s people are called to prosper and become channels of blessing to nations.

“Through Christ shall all the nations of the earth be blessed,” he said.

He also referenced biblical instructions encouraging believers to declare peace upon cities and nations, stressing that Christians have a spiritual responsibility to pray for their countries and influence world affairs positively.

“This is a time for us to control world affairs in our favour,” Pastor Chris stated during the global broadcast.

Teaching From the Book of Daniel

Another major portion of the session focused on the prophetic vision recorded in Daniel 2.

Pastor Chris discussed the dream of King Nebuchadnezzar and the interpretation given by the prophet Daniel, referencing Daniel 2:27-47.

According to the teaching, the prophecy outlines successive world kingdoms and events leading toward the final stages of global political systems described in biblical prophecy.

Pastor Chris explained that the “iron and clay” stage mentioned in Daniel points to a future political arrangement connected to Europe.

“There’s a time difference between the iron kingdom and the iron-and-clay feet,” he said, adding that the world is moving closer to that prophetic period.

He suggested that current geopolitical developments and the emergence of global alliances should be viewed carefully in light of biblical prophecy.

Discussion on Upcoming US Midterm Elections

During the session, Pastor Chris also highlighted developments surrounding the upcoming United States midterm elections.

Although detailed comments on the elections were not fully expanded during the session, he encouraged Christians to remain spiritually observant about international political events and continue praying concerning world leadership and national direction.

The remarks formed part of a broader message emphasizing the role of prayer in shaping nations and influencing global outcomes.
