During the June 2026 Global Communion Service, Rev. Dr. Chris Oyakhilome, DSc, DD, declared June as the “Month of Prayer,” calling on Christians around the world to deepen their commitment to prayer and make it a central part of their daily lives.
In his address to the global congregation, Pastor Chris emphasized the importance of persistence, consistency, and dedication in prayer. He encouraged believers to recognize prayer as one of the most powerful spiritual responsibilities entrusted to the Church and a vital means of establishing God’s will in the earth.
Prayer is not merely a religious exercise but a divine partnership with God through which Christians can influence circumstances, impact nations, and bring about positive change in their communities and throughout the world.
The declaration comes at a significant time, following the recently concluded Global Fasting and Prayer Program, where believers from different nations united in prayer for world leaders, governments, the spread of the Gospel, and the advancement of God’s Kingdom.
Pastor Chris urged Christians to remain steadfast in prayer throughout the month, highlighting the need for believers to develop a consistent prayer life and maintain spiritual vigilance. He stressed that through prayer, Christians align themselves with God’s purpose and become effective instruments for His work in the earth.
The Month of Prayer presents an opportunity for believers everywhere to strengthen their fellowship with God, pray for their families, communities, churches, and nations, and actively participate in God’s plan for their generation.
As Christians around the world embrace this special focus for June, many are expected to dedicate additional time to prayer, intercession, and spiritual growth, confident in the assurance that God hears and answers the prayers of His people.
With June now declared the Month of Prayer, believers globally are encouraged to take full advantage of this season to grow spiritually, exercise their faith, and make a greater impact through the power of prayer.
