Global Specialists Gather to Explore Radiopharmaceutical Therapy and Precision Oncology
Lagos has hosted an international symposium bringing together leading medical specialists to examine the latest developments in radiopharmaceutical therapy, theragnostics and precision oncology.
The International Symposium on Radiopharmaceutical Therapy 2026, held at the Loveworld Medical Centre in Lagos, featured experts from different parts of the world who gathered to discuss emerging technologies and approaches in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer.
The programme combined scientific sessions, hands-on workshops, live demonstrations and expert discussions, giving participants an opportunity to examine how advances in nuclear medicine and precision healthcare could contribute to the future of cancer treatment.
ADVANCING PRECISION CANCER CARE
A major focus of the symposium was theragnostics an approach that combines diagnosis and treatment by using targeted radioactive compounds to identify specific cancer cells and subsequently deliver treatment more precisely.
Radiopharmaceutical therapy is increasingly being explored as a way of targeting certain cancers while limiting exposure to surrounding healthy tissue.
