The session centred on Luke 19:1–27, with Pastor Chris emphasizing that salvation cannot be purchased with money or earned simply through human goodness. He stressed that salvation comes through Jesus Christ and called on believers to live purposefully while awaiting Christ’s return.
“Occupy Till I Come”
Reflecting on Jesus’ instruction in Luke 19:13 to “occupy till I come,” Pastor Chris encouraged Christians to maximize the opportunities, abilities and resources God has given them.
He urged believers to do more, increase their impact and win more souls, emphasizing that Christians should demonstrate responsibility and leadership with what has been entrusted to them.
According to the teaching, the return of Jesus Christ will also bring a time when believers will reign with Him, making their work and commitment in the present world significant.
Standing for Jesus Christ
A major theme of Day 2 was what it means to stand for Jesus Christ.
Pastor Chris described Christians as soldiers who must learn to confront trials, tribulations and opposition. Using the analogy of a soldier serving a country rather than himself, he encouraged believers to demonstrate courage, discipline and leadership within the house of God.
The message also addressed concerns surrounding freedom of speech and censorship in some nations. Pastor Chris argued that freedom of speech loses its meaning when it is restricted through multiple laws or measures that, in his view, are presented under other justifications.
The discussion referenced the “Hate Speech Deception” documentary as part of the broader conversation about speech, censorship and society.
Lessons from Esther and the Bible
The session also drew lessons from Esther 3:13 and Esther 4:15, highlighting the importance of courage and taking a stand during difficult circumstances.
Pastor Chris connected these biblical accounts with the responsibility of believers to respond when faced with opposition and circumstances affecting their communities and nations.
Scriptures including Isaiah 38:1–17, Hebrews 5:7, Romans 8:26–28, Isaiah 43:25–26 and James 5:16 were also referenced during the teaching.
A deeper dimension of prayer
Another key emphasis was the importance of heartfelt prayer.
Pastor Chris explained that there are moments when believers may pray without immediately seeing a visible change. He encouraged Christians to engage God from the depth of their being, describing a form of prayer in which a person’s entire soul is involved.
He pointed to the biblical example of deep emotional prayer and encouraged believers not to give up when answers appear delayed.
The message further highlighted the role of the Holy Spirit in helping believers pray, drawing from Romans 8:26–28, while James 5:16 was referenced in connection with the effectiveness of earnest prayer.
Emphasis on fasting and spiritual responsibility
Fasting was also presented as an important spiritual discipline, particularly when believers are praying concerning serious challenges affecting individuals and nations.
Pastor Chris stressed the importance of prayer and fasting in confronting what he described as spiritual forces seeking to destroy nations, urging Christians to approach such challenges with spiritual commitment and persistence.
Day 2 ultimately presented a call for Christians to stand for Christ, develop spiritual leadership, maximize their God-given opportunities, pray deeply and remain committed to their faith despite opposition.
