More Than 3,300 Volunteers Register in Eight Hours as Foundation Strengthens Life-Saving Mission
The Chris Oyakhilome Foundation International (COFI) has announced a significant humanitarian milestone after 3,310 volunteers registered for blood donation within just eight hours, marking one of the foundation’s most impactful public health mobilization efforts to date.
COFI described the achievement as a powerful demonstration of compassion, community participation, and the growing global commitment to saving lives through voluntary blood donation. The foundation said the overwhelming response highlights the importance of building stronger emergency medical support systems and encouraging a culture of humanitarian service.
The blood donation drive was organized as part of COFI’s broader mission to improve healthcare access and provide critical support to vulnerable communities around the world. Through its network of partner organizations and NGOs, including the Trauma Care International Foundation (TCIF), COFI continues to expand initiatives focused on trauma care, emergency response, healthcare education, child and family empowerment, humanitarian relief, and sustainable community development.
Foundation representatives noted that voluntary blood donation remains one of the most effective ways to support hospitals, accident victims, surgical patients, mothers facing childbirth complications, and individuals undergoing treatment for serious medical conditions. The rapid registration of thousands of volunteers demonstrates increasing public awareness of the urgent need for safe and reliable blood supplies.
COFI emphasized that its humanitarian vision extends beyond short-term charitable assistance. The organization said its long-term goal is to create sustainable systems that improve health outcomes, strengthen communities, and restore hope to those facing crisis situations.
The foundation has been involved in a range of humanitarian interventions across multiple nations, including medical outreach programs, educational support initiatives, relief assistance for disadvantaged communities, and capacity-building projects aimed at improving long-term social welfare.
In a statement celebrating the milestone, COFI expressed gratitude to all volunteers, partners, healthcare workers, and supporters who participated in the campaign, describing their response as evidence that collective action can produce meaningful and lasting change.
The organization reaffirmed its commitment to expanding humanitarian programs and mobilizing even greater participation in future life-saving initiatives, stating that its mission is “a vision beyond charity” focused on transforming lives and building a better future for communities across the globe.
COFI’s latest achievement comes at a time when many health organizations continue to encourage increased blood donation participation to help maintain adequate supplies for emergency and routine medical care. The foundation said the success of the campaign will serve as a catalyst for further humanitarian outreach and stronger community engagement in the months ahead.
