Beijing and Islamabad Urge U.S. and Iran to Resume Dialogue
Foreign Ministers Stress Diplomacy as Only Path to Regional Stability
China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar have jointly called for an immediate ceasefire and the urgent resumption of dialogue between the United States and Iran.
The appeal followed bilateral talks between the two ministers in Shanghai, where they discussed regional security and the need to prevent further escalation in the Middle East.
According to Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, Wang Yi urged all parties to honour their commitments and abide by the existing ceasefire memorandum of understanding.
The Chinese and Pakistani officials emphasised that diplomacy and dialogue remain the only viable path to easing tensions, preserving regional stability, and preventing further conflict.
The meeting underscores continued coordination between Beijing and Islamabad on major international and regional security issues, with both countries advocating negotiated solutions to ongoing disputes.
