Leaders Sign Over $1 Billion in Commercial Agreements

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has hosted Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney at Al-Salam Palace, marking the first official visit by a sitting Canadian prime minister to Saudi Arabia in 26 years.

Following an official reception and bilateral talks, the two leaders witnessed the signing of 13 commercial agreements and Memorandums of Understanding with a combined value of more than $1 billion, aimed at expanding cooperation in trade, investment, and other strategic sectors.

Prime Minister Carney and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman also issued a joint statement condemning recent Iranian attacks on commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, reaffirming their commitment to freedom of navigation and regional stability.

The visit underscores growing diplomatic and economic engagement between Canada and Saudi Arabia as both countries seek to strengthen bilateral relations and cooperation on regional and global issues.
